The International Union of Muslim women takes on special or short term projects.
Our goal is to activate people in their communities to improve the quality of
life for all individuals not just of their community but the world.
E'id Stamp In 1996, a child in Reno Nevada brought us a wonderful new project. The fifth grader was an avid stamp collector and realized that there were stamp to commemorate all the major religions except Islam. He asked his mother, a member of IUMW, why there were no stamps for the Islamic holidays. The IUMW started work to have a special stamp issued by the U.S. Postal Service, to commemorate our E'id. The E'id stamp was issued in August of 2001. IUMW continuing projects Counseling: Counseling is provided for new Muslims making the transition into living Islam. We also assist Muslim sisters with a variety of other problems. Marriage Arbitration: Qualified arbitrators assist Muslim families in crisis. Teacher Education: We provide assistance to public school educators and administrators seeking to understand Islam and provide for the needs of Muslim students. Speakers Bureau: Qualified Muslim sisters are available to speak at schools and community events.
